TAHOE RIM TRAIL 2/6

@@@@@@
Tahoe Rim Trail

The hiking course gTahoe Rim Trailh which goes around the ridge of Lake Tahoe was completed in 2001.

The 165 miles Tahoe Rim Trailfs special feature is intermingled of different parts.
That is a Wilderness area, State Park area, dirt road, paved highway, street of
cottagescetc.

Elevations range from 6,200 feet at Tahoe City to 10,300 feet at Relay Peak. The Trail is repetition of up and down in a few thousand feet. No high passes and long switchbacks. Most difficulty of backpacking in this Trail is creeks and springs are very few as the most of trail is in the ridge. In some section of this trail, hikers have to carry a lot of water to the campsite as small lakes and creeks are dry up in August.

There are 10 trailheads in TRT. Hikers can store the water and food in each trailhead.
A very kind grocery store at the Spooner Summit can hold your food box that sends it mail.

The TRT association is performing maintenance of the trail. Each trailhead has a direction board like the right, and the upper gTRT markh is shown in the key points.
The Californian blue grand lake and the fresh wind which blows ridge give us gpeculiar impressionh which cannot be experienced in other trails.
