Lake shore rocks are very good for rest; you want to stay longer as this lake is so quiet and peaceful.

This is a small lake surrounded by the rock walls. You can see the fishes from the trail.

Garnet Lake seems deeper than Thousand Island Lake. The background is Banner Peak.

We met many anglers by the lake.

Look down Wanda Lake from Muir Pass. The lake shore was extreme cold by the wind blow from the pass.

Muir Hut on Muir Pass 12,146 ft
Muir Hut is made by granite stone blocks, is the symbol of John Muir Trail.

Helen Lake 11,594 ft
Two beautiful lakes, Helen and Wanda, are both side of Muir Pass. The lakes are named after John Muir’s daughters.

Mather Pass 12,080 ft
Mather Pass is high pass to the 3rd in John Muir Trail.

Lake Marjorie 11,141 ft
Lake Marjorie is 4 to 5 hours walk from Mather Pass. You can see the snowpack from the pass.

Arrowhead Lake 10,298 ft
The shape looks like arrowhead. This is Kings Canyon National Park.

Forester Pass 13,200 ft
Forster Pass is highest and most difficult mountain pass in John Muir Trail. This is the boundary between Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park.

Mount Whitney is the goal of John Muir Trail. We looked back again and again at Mount Whitney from the trail of Whitney Portal.
